a childhood in wartime London
After his retirement from Gatwick Airport Police, Brian Hepworth (1931-2007) and his wife, Jean, retired to Norfolk. During his time there, Brian spent many hours documenting his experiences as a young boy growing up in South East London during World War Two.
Brian wanted to write a book for children to read, understand and appreciate about his experiences. Life was exciting for him and his friends, dangerous at times, but Brian was always looking and clearly documenting for this very book.
Take a trip down memory lane and experience what it was like to grow up in Bellingham, London during the last world war.
The Blitz In Bellingham is a gloss paper back landscape book, A4 in size, glue bound on the spine.
